Workshop of the EAPS Health, Morbidity and Mortality Working Group

We are pleased to announce the next workshop of the EAPS Health, Morbidity and Mortality Working Group, which will take place at the London School of Economics and Political Science from Monday, 15th September to Wednesday, 17th September, 2014. The general theme of the workshop will be: “The continuing importance of inequality in health and mortality analyses?” This is a purposely broad theme, and includes the implications for health, morbidity and mortality (HMM) of such issues as:

Understanding European living arrangements, perspectives from anthropological demography

Living arrangements in Europe are increasingly complex and diverse: from living apart together (LAT) couples, to multi-generational households, to adult children co-resident with their parents.
The ways in which people organise their living arrangements are both cause and consequence of social change. Trends and processes in living arrangements do not operate in a vacuum from other processes
of social change. There are complex inter-relationships between living arrangements and other major life course transitions such as (un)employment, education and geographic mobility.
