Health and Disease in the Mediterranean European Countries between the 18th and 20th century

The University of Sassari and the Italian, French and Spanish Societies for Historical Demography (Università  degli Studi di Sassari, Società  Italiana di Demografia Storica, Société de Démographie Historique, and Asociación de Demografí­a Histórica) jointly organized an international seminar on Health and disease in the Mediterranean European countries between the 18th and 20th century. The seminar convened under the auspices of EAPS in Alghero-Sassari, and covered three main topics: a) Mortality decline and demographic transition; b) The individual, the family and the society: the battle against disease and death in the public and the private domain; c) Health achievement: scientific progress, social behaviour and traditional mentalities.
